The Carpeteria genie was the giant, 20-foot-tall mascot for the Carpeteria carpet and flooring retail chain that operated primarily in California and Nevada. The fiberglass genie figures were installed on the roofs of Carpeteria stores in the 1960s to attract customers with their "magical" promise of great prices.
